How to get Ration Card In bangalore.

I had great experience with Ration card department of Bangalore.

Here is my experience (April 2009)

1. I have visited one of the Food and Civil supply Office near by my home(chamraj pet Branch)
2. I got full direction of document and process.
3. I have submitted, collected all documents and visited the office.
4. I got the ration card ready By next month


Documents required
----------------------------

1. If you have a Ration card – cancellation of name from existing ration card / if you don’t have Ration Card – NOC from your home town about no Ration Card

2. Approved residence proof (if you have rent agreement, provide electricity bill also)

3. For child less than 2 years, provide Birth certificate

Visit Food & Supply department of your area (check http://ahara.kar.nic.in/contact.htm OR http://www.kfcsc.com/ )

Process
------------

1. Show all document (most important, cancellation / NOC for current Ration card)

2. You will be given an application form

3. Get it filled by someone as it would be in Kannada

4. Submit the form and all document to manager and get it checked
[If they have more application then they will ask you to visit the office again providing by some date, On or After this date you ( and entire family) have to visit the office.]

5. Get yourself and family members photographed in department itself

6. Get your ration card printed on the spot

7. Get it laminated in office
